FOMIN (Fondo Multilateral de Inversiones) is the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF) of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), an institutional investor focused on fostering private sector development and innovation in Latin America and the Caribbean. It invests in venture capital funds and directly in entrepreneurs, targeting sectors such as fintech, health/biotech, farmtech, and consumer products. FOMIN typically backs early-stage startups and growth-stage companies, with investments ranging from US$1.5m to US$4m in funds and initiatives. It operates across the Pacific Alliance countries and Central America, including El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua.
