Avenue is a Brazilian fintech that provides a digital platform for Brazilian investors to access international financial markets, primarily in the United States. It solves the problem of limited access to foreign investments by offering an offshore brokerage service that allows clients to buy and sell US stocks, ETFs, and other assets. The company was founded in 2018 and has grown to serve 750,000 clients, with US$3.5 billion in assets under custody. In 2022, Itaú Unibanco acquired a 35% stake in the company, and in late 2023, Avenue received an investment bank license from the Central Bank of Brazil, enabling it to expand its financial services.
