Saavi Energia
Mexicofintech
Saavi Energía is a Mexico-based independent power producer that was established in 2018 when Actis acquired InterGen's Mexican portfolio for a consolidated enterprise value of US$1.256 billion and rebranded the platform. The company owns and operates power generation assets in Mexico, including the Energía Sierra Juárez project, and has expanded through acquisitions such as a solar PV plant. It serves the Mexican electricity market as a power generator and has attracted significant infrastructure investment, including a US$325 million secured term loan from Global Infrastructure Partners' GIP Spectrum Fund. In 2024, Grupo México agreed to acquire Saavi Energía, and the company has also sold stakes in assets such as its remaining 50% interest in Energía Sierra Juárez to IEnova for US$80 million.
