Taxibeat is a taxi-hailing app that connects passengers with licensed taxi drivers. The app initially charged drivers a fee per ride but later became free for taxi drivers in Brazil after receiving a R$10 million investment from a European venture capital firm. It operates in Brazil and expanded into Mexico City with an additional $2 million in financing. The company was seeded by Greek venture capital firm OpenFund.
