Trela (formerly Zapt) is a Brazilian foodtech that operates a group buying marketplace for food, enabling neighbors to pool their orders and purchase directly from suppliers, thereby removing intermediaries and saving 20% to 50% on groceries. The platform connects consumers in the same neighborhood to place collective orders, benefiting both buyers through lower prices and sellers through direct sales. Trela raised a $25 million Series A round from SoftBank in 2022, but later shut down after failing to secure additional funding. The company was based in Brazil and served the Brazilian market.
