Wayra is Telefónica's corporate venture capital (CVC) arm that invests in early-stage startups and connects them with Telefónica's business units to foster innovation and commercial collaboration. It operates a venture-client model, providing startups with access to global markets and one of the largest customer bases in the world, while also designing open innovation and corporate venture programs for Telefónica and other corporations. Wayra has invested in over 1,179 startups, with a total investment of €255 million and generated over €688 million in business for startups. It operates in Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Brazil, with a focus on sectors including healthtech, AI, and digital health.
